Ashton Trumbull Hampton is an associate in the Jacksonville South office. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Telecommunications and graduated with honors from Ball State University. Thereafter, she enrolled in a joint degree program at the University of Florida where she simultaneously earned a Master of Arts in Mass Communication at the College of Journalism and Communications and a Juris Doctor with a concentration in Intellectual Property at the Levin College of Law.
While in law school, Ashton worked as a research assistant for the Brechner Center for Freedom of Information where she investigated First Amendment issues on public access. She wrote annotated bibliographies for quarterly newsletters published by the Law and Policy Division of the Association of Educators in Journalism and Mass Communications. Her contributions to the AEJMC discussed developments in entertainment, media, technology, and intellectual property law. Ashton served as Vice President of Entertainment for the Entertainment and Sports Law Society, as well as Vice President of the Intellectual Property and Technology Law Association. Recreationally, Ashton formed a co-ed beach volleyball team for graduate students and competed weekly.
