Overview

Gene P. Kissane is a Partner in the firm’s Miami and Key West offices. Mr. Kissane is a Martindale-Hubbell AV-rated Preeminent attorney who practices personal injury litigation, transportation litigation, negligent security litigation, premises liability litigation and professional liability litigation, including legal malpractice, medical malpractice, and nursing home litigation. He has experience handling Errors and Omissions claims, including those brought against insurance brokers and agents. He is an active participant in the firm’s SIU Fraud Division representing carriers by bringing affirmative complaints and counterclaims on their behalf.

Mr. Kissane has been a guest lecturer on multiple topics throughout the country and has been an invited guest speaker on multiple occasions in the Old Library at Lloyd’s of London presenting on topics including avoidance of bad faith, and how to avoid nuclear verdicts. He has lectured on multiple hundreds of occasions throughout the United States and in London on these and other trial related topics.

Mr. Kissane is a co-author of a section of "The Federal Evidence Practice Guide", published by Matthew Bender Publishing Co. 

Mr. Kissane earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Miami and a Juris Doctor from The University of Miami School of Law.  Honors and distinctions he received while in college and law school included the Golden Key National Honor Society, Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, Who’s Who Among American College and University Students, Phi Alpha Delta Legal Society, and received two American Jurisprudence Book Awards.

Mr. Kissane also served as a Federal Judicial Law Clerk for United States District Judge Thomas E. Scott of the Southern District of Florida after graduating from law school.
