Matthew Whiddon is a partner in our Jacksonville office. Mr. Whiddon has experience in a wide array of civil practice areas. Mr. Whiddon’s civil practice is comprised of personal injury, wrongful death, product liability, commercial litigation, contracts, premises liability, trucking accident defense, general liability, coverage disputes, subrogation, professional malpractice, construction defect, construction/ mechanic’s lien litigation, condominium/ homeowners’ association law, employment litigation, workers’ compensation, and intellectual property. In addition to litigation, Mr. Whiddon consults corporate clients regarding intellectual property portfolio management, risk management, employment practices, contracts, commercial leases, and insurance issues.

Mr. Whiddon is admitted to the Florida Bar, and is also a licensed patent practitioner with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Whiddon received his Bachelor’s degrees in Physics and Political Science from the University of Florida, and his law degree from the Florida State University College of Law. During law school, he advocated for abused, abandoned, and neglected children as a Guardian Ad Litem in the North Florida area. He also studied law at the University of Oxford for a summer via Florida State University College of Law’s study abroad program. A Jacksonville native, he was valedictorian of his graduating class at Duncan U. Fletcher High School in Neptune Beach, Florida.

Matt is a member of The Florida Bar, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and is a licensed patent agent with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
