Overview
Patrick McCarthy is an associate in the firm’s Jacksonville office. He is a civil trial attorney with a focus on general civil litigation, insurance coverage, construction defects, professional malpractice, insurance bad faith, errors and omissions, and trucking claims.
In 2015, Mr. McCarthy completed his undergraduate at Trinity College with a double major in Economics and Public Policy. In 2018, he obtained his Juris Doctor from New England Law where he finished number six in his class and graduated magna cum laude . He was recognized in each academic year as as a New England Scholar, as well as earned the CALI Award for the highest grade in constitutional law.
In 2018, Mr. McCarthy was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar. Shortly after, he was appointed as an active duty judge advocate in the U.S. Army where he practiced law as a member of the 82d Airborne Division and U.S. Army Special Operations Command. In this capacity, he served as a government prosecutor, and was selected to lead two high profile criminal prosecutions covered in the national media. Mr. McCarthy also deployed to Iraq and Syria where he served as a legal advisor to the forward task force commander. In 2021, he was selected to receive the Judge Advocate Legal Services Award by Lieutenant General Stuart Risch, the Judge Advocate General of the Army. His military awards include the Combat Action Badge, Parachutist Badge, two Army Achievement Medals, and four Army Commendation Medals, the Operation Inherent Resolve Campaign ribbon, and the Global War on Terror service medal.
Mr. McCarthy is admitted to practice before all Florida and Massachusetts state courts, as well as the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida. He is a current member of both the Massachusetts and Florida Bar.
