Lissette Gonzalez of CSK’s Miami office obtained a written affirmance of a final order granting a motion to dismiss in favor of Kingsley Arms Apartments. The Appellant, a trespasser who gained access to and jumped from the rooftop of Kingsley Arms Apartments in an attempt to commit suicide, relied on a means restriction theory of suicide prevention to argue that Kingsley was negligent. Lissette successfully established that private buildings owners do not owe a duty to undiscovered trespassers attempting to commit suicide.
