Miami Partner Richard Adams and Jacksonville Partner Jennifer Kass recently received a complete defense verdict in Alachua County in a case where fault was admitted.
Plaintiff’s request at trial was approximately $2,360,000.00. Plaintiff claimed neck, back, knee, and shoulder injuries. Plaintiff underwent various pain management modalities and was recommended for a cervical fusion both by his treating physician and an orthopedic expert. The defense of the case was focused on causation in that it was a low speed accident and Plaintiff had both a prior auto accident and a subsequent slip and fall. The defense verdict triggered the Defendant’s proposal for settlement.
