Orlando Partner Chris Wasula and Associate Rebecca Burton recently argued and persuaded the court to grant a motion for summary judgment in a hotly contested “failure to hire” claim. Plaintiff claimed that her client was not hired as retaliation for the plaintiff’s involvement as a witness to a claim brought by a co-worker.
Despite Plaintiff’s counsel passionate argument, and thanks to a lot of preparation, Chris successfully argued the plaintiff did not have sufficient evidence supporting the claim that the employer was aware of the activity when he rejected the application. This great result is especially significant as it will assist in the defense of several companion cases.
