Orlando Associate Jonathan Perry successfully argued a motion for summary judgment in a matter involving the insurer for a ride sharing driver. It was a complex issue which required the interpretation of the contract and the TNC statutory requirements. To add to the complexity, both the plaintiff (represented by a large and well-known law firm) and another insurance carrier took positions against the motion for summary judgment.
Jonathan put the case in MSJ posture, finalized the motion for summary judgment, drafted the responses to the opposition memos/motions, and was very prepared for the hearing. He fielded tough questions from the court, and passionate arguments from both Plaintiff’s & Insurance Carrier’s counsel. The court agreed with his arguments and granted summary judgment on behalf of the carrier.
