Miami Associates Francesca Stein and Ashley Amoedo successfully obtained a summary judgment for Miami-Dade County in a wrongful death suit. The Personal Representative claimed that the County was negligent for failing to monitor and repair streetlights on S.W. 8th Street in Miami-Dade which caused the decedent to become struck and killed by a phantom motorist when he crossed the middle of the road at night. Francesca and Ashley successfully argued that under the facts and law, the County was immune from suit and not negligent.
