Overview

Erica received her J.D., cum laude, from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law. During her time at NSU, Erica was an Articles Editor on the ILSA International Journal of Comparative Law, Competitions Coordinator of the Trial Association Honor Society, and an active member of the Moot Court Honor Society where she earned the Best Overall Advocate award in the Intramural Competition. Erica also served as the Chair of NSU’s Federal Bar Association, Vice President of the Hispanic Student Bar Association, Vice President of the Public Interest Law Society, Liaison Officer of the Criminal Law Society, and the 3L Representative of the Student Bar Association. She also served as a research assistant to Dean Olympia Duhart, the director of the NSU Legal Research and Writing program which is ranked 7th in the nation. While in law school, Erica competed in several trial competitions where she earned the title of Champion in the Mark Dobson Tournament, Semi-Finalist and Best Opening Statement in the Intramural Competition, and Octo-Finalist in the nation-wide Capital City Challenge Tournament. Erica also worked as a Certified Legal Intern in the Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Clinic at NSU, where as a student she represented indigent clients and argued motions before the court of the 17th Judicial Circuit.

Prior to law school, Erica received her Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences with minors in Political Science, Sociology, and Human Communication from the University of Central Florida. During her time at UCF, Erica received a rowing scholarship and won the American Athletic Conference Championships as a division one athlete in back-to-back years. She also interned for the Orange County Legal Aid Society in the housing unit and the State Attorney’s Office in both the sex crimes unit and domestic violence unit. She also served as an intern to the Honorable Wilfredo Martinez of the 9th Judicial Circuit.

Mrs. Rodriguez is fluent in both English and Spanish.
