Gabriela Lazaro is an Associate Attorney in the firm's Miami office, practicing primarily in the areas of business/commercial law, commercial litigation and Employment and Labor.
Ms. Lazaro received a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida. Following her undergraduate studies, Ms. Lazaro attended the University of Miami School of Law where she obtained her Juris Doctorate, cum laude. While in law school, Ms. Lazaro received several honors and distinction, including: Dean's Certificate of Achievement and HOPE Pro Bono & Community Service Challenge Award. In addition, Ms. Lazaro served as a Staff Editor on the University's Business Law Review. During her third year of law school, Ms. Lazaro served as a legal intern with the University of Miami School of Law Children and Youth Clinic, where she represented children in foster care and former foster youth in dependency.
After law school, Ms. Lazaro worked at mid-sized general practice law firms, until she met the Executive Director of Americans for Immigrant Justice, and spent three years representing unaccompanied immigrant children in Federal and State Proceedings. Ms. Lazaro impacted the life of over 300 minors during her time at the non-profit organization. Since transitioning to the private sector, Ms. Lazaro continues to provide pro-bono services to the organization.
Prior to joining Cole, Scott & Kissane, Ms. Lazaro served as Associate General Counsel for Universal Property & Casualty Insurance Company where she gained litigation and trial experience in First Party Property.
Ms. Lazaro is a Miami native and is fluent in Spanish.
