Gabriela Lazaro is an Associate Attorney in the firm's Miami office, specializing in commercial litigation, business disputes, professional liability litigation, employment and labor matters.

Ms. Lazaro earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida. She then obtained her Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law, where she was recognized with multiple honors, including the Dean's Certificate of Achievement and the HOPE Pro Bono & Community Service Challenge Award. She also contributed as a Staff Editor for the University's Business Law Review and served as a legal intern with the University of Miami School of Law Children and Youth Clinic, representing children in foster care and former foster youth in dependency proceedings.

Following law school, Ms. Lazaro gained experience at mid-sized general practice law firms before dedicating three years to representing unaccompanied immigrant children in federal and state proceedings as part of Americans for Immigrant Justice. During her time with the organization, she positively impacted the lives of over 300 minors. Since transitioning to private practice, she continues to offer pro bono services to the organization.

Before joining Cole, Scott & Kissane, Ms. Lazaro served as Associate General Counsel for Universal Property & Casualty Insurance Company, where she gained extensive litigation and trial experience in first-party property cases.

A Miami native, Ms. Lazaro is fluent in Spanish.
