Overview
Justin Schiff is an associate working out of the Miami office. He advises on intellectual property, business law and commercial disputes in both the litigation and transactional context.
Justin's transactional practice covers intellectual property licensing, management, monetization and related disputes Justin also has experience managing intellectual property protection campaigns (including on major platforms such as Amazon, Ebay, Etsy and major social media platforms.) Justin also has experience with intellectual property purchasing and sales and non-practicing entities.
In addition to his transactional practice, Justin's litigation practice covers intellectual property disputes involving patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, unfair and deceptive trade practices and insurance related matters. Justin also has experience in a wide-array of contract and business disputes, both in the business-to-business context and internally (investigations, contract disputes and employment disputes).
With experience in technology transfer, intellectual property creation and protection, and state /federal litigation, Justin has valuable insight into the business needs and decision making process for start-ups, large companies and internationally recognized brands. Justin also brings a unique blend of experiences given his work at University of Miami's Office of Technology Transfer and his time in federal and state courts.
Justin earned his undergraduate degree from Tulane University where he majored in Business Management and Legal Studies in Business. Justin earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami School of Law where he focused his studies on intellectual property and start-up law. At UM Law, Justin was a member of the Moot Court team and the Law Without Walls Program.
