Overview
Lizza C. Maldonado is a Partner in the firm’s West Palm Beach office and practices in the areas of Commercial Litigation, Intellectual Property, Professional Malpractice, Banking and Finance, Real Estate Litigation, and Employment and Labor. She practices in state and federal courts.
Ms. Maldonado maintains a significant practice in defending professionals in both civil disputes and grievance matters. She has represented attorneys, accountants, real estate professionals, insurance brokers, and other professionals. Ms. Maldonado has achieved favorable results for clients in both federal and state venues including several of Florida’s Complex Litigation Divisions. She has successfully defended several multi-million dollar legal malpractice claims.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a minor in Accounting from Florida Atlantic University. Ms. Maldonado received her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law. While in law school, she served as an Executive Board Member of the Moot Court Society, Bilingual Editor for the ILSA Journal of International and Comparative Law, and placed as a quarter-finalist in the AIPLA Giles Sutherland Rich Moot Court Competition.
Prior to joining Cole, Scott & Kissane, Ms. Maldonado worked for a boutique commercial litigation firm handling cases in intellectual property, complex and general litigation. Prior to that, she was an Honor’s Legal Intern for the Securities and Exchange Commission in the Miami Regional Office.
