Mary Lou Cuellar-Stilo is an Of Counsel in the firm’s Tampa office. Her practice focuses on the areas of Appellate, Insurance Coverage and Carrier Representation, Family Law, and Child Welfare Litigation.
Mrs. Cuellar-Stilo earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Florida, and her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Florida, Levin College of Law.
Mrs. Cuellar-Stilo is admitted to practice before all Florida circuit and appellate courts and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. She is a member of the Florida Bar, the Hillsborough County Bar Association, and the Hillsborough Association for Women Lawyers where she serves as Co-Chair of the Mentoring Committee. Mrs. Cuellar-Stilo has achieved the rating of “AV Preeminent” from Martindale Hubbell.
Mrs. Cuellar-Stilo is the current Chair of the Florida Bar Association Family Law Rules Committee (July 2019 – July 2020) and is an Adjunct Professor of Law at the W.M. Cooley Law School in Tampa, Florida where she has taught Advocacy and Florida Juvenile Delinquency and Dependency courses.
Prior to joining Cole, Scott & Kissane, Mrs. Cuellar-Stilo served as a General Magistrate in the Family Law Division of the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit from August 2007 through February 2020, and served as a Child Care Licensing hearing officer from October 2002 through July 2007. She previously represented the Department of Children and Families and its community based providers in her capacity as an Assistant Attorney General in the Children’s Legal Services Division.
