Overview
Matthew A. Green is a Partner at the firm’s Fort Lauderdale East office. Mr. Green concentrates his practice on state and federal civil litigation matters, including, but not limited to, class and mass action litigation, business and complex commercial litigation, employment and labor law, community association law, directors and officers liability, consumer protection/trade practices defense, data security and privacy litigation, and First Amendment issues. Mr. Green has substantial experience litigating in federal court, as well as in the complex business litigation divisions of Broward and Miami-Dade County, Florida. Mr. Green also has significant experience handling administrative hearings and pre-suit administrative matters.
Mr. Green maintains a significant practice in defending and resolving class and mass actions filed under Title VII (and related laws, including the Florida Civil Rights Act), the Fair Labor Standards Act (and related state wage and hour laws), and the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act (and other consumer protection statutes), and regarding data security and privacy related issues. Mr. Green likewise represents community associations in class actions brought by residential and commercial unit owners. Mr. Green also defends shareholder/member derivative lawsuits, as well as negligence related claims for sporting arenas and venues.
Mr. Green has been working for Cole, Scott & Kissane, P.A. since the Summer of 2017 and, since then, has been instrumental in associate development at the firm’s Fort Lauderdale East office. Prior to working at Cole, Scott & Kissane, P.A., Mr. Green earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Florida Heavener School of Business, as well as a Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he graduated Cum Laude. While in law school, Mr. Green was a Managing Editor of the law school’s Journal of Law and Public Policy, as well as a contributing member of the John Marshall Bar Association.
