Overview
Thomas B. Miller practices in the construction law group. Mr. Miller has practiced law for over thirty years. His primary focus for the past twenty years has been construction defects litigation. He has represented developers, general contractors and specialty trades in litigation arising out of commercial, multi-family and single family construction.
In addition to construction litigation, Mr. Miller has experience in personal injury and wrongful death litigation, Chinese drywall litigation, insurance coverage, commercial litigation, Fair Credit Reporting Act litigation, environmental law, governmental law collections and probate litigation. He has tried several jury trials to verdict in Florida and Alabama. Mr. Miller has also handled numerous appeals in state and federal courts. Mr. Miller presented oral arguments before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the Supreme Court of Alabama.
Mr. Miller began his experience with the construction industry in 1978 by working in a survey crew for his family civil engineering and surveying firm. Mr. Miller is an 1984 graduate of Auburn University where he earned a BA in History. He also was awarded the Varsity "A" as a football manager. He is an 1988 magna cum laude graduate of Cumberland Law School where he was an associate editor of the Cumberland Law Review and a member of the Moot Court Board.
Mr. Miller is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Florida and Alabama; as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit .
