West Palm Beach partners Barry Postman and Katie Merwin recently obtained a defense verdict in a 4-day jury in Broward County.
The case involved pregnancy discrimination and retaliation claims filed under the Florida Civil Rights Act. The Plaintiff was terminated shortly after announcing her pregnancy and claimed both lost wages ($125,000) and emotional pain and suffering (which was left for the jury to decide).
The jury was out for 40 minutes and returned a complete defense verdict.
