Defense Verdict – Volusia County

Orlando Partners, Scott Shelton and Ryan Sawyer received a complete defense verdict for a race track client In Volusia County following a jury trial. Plaintiff was a vendor who came to the Speedway, where he injured his hand while operating a gate that resulted in the partial amputation of a finger on his dominant hand. Plaintiff’s expert alleged various code violations and the defense chose to not call any experts. Plaintiff asked for approximately $650,000. The jury was out for approximately one hour before returning a complete defense verdict.

The defendant had an expired Proposal for Settlement to the Plaintiff.
